The National Weather Service in Pocatello has extended the

* Flood Advisory for...
Snowmelt in...
Southeastern Bear Lake County in southeastern Idaho...

* Until noon MDT Thursday

* At 1145 AM MDT, emergency management reported flooding continues
from Pegram northeast to Ovid, and southward through Paris and
Fish Haven. Widespread flooding across fields near Pegram and Ovid
continues. Rising ground water has resulted in minor basement
flooding in Ovid and Paris. A road washout has also been reported
on Fish Haven Cemetery Lane in Fish Haven, and other roads may be
impacted across the advisory area. With warm temperatures and rain
in the forecast, flooding along creeks and streams and across
fields and low lying areas is expected to continue and may
increase over the next several days.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Montpelier, Saint Charles, Dingle, Paris, Bloomington, Bern, Ovid,
Border Summit, Pegram and Fish Haven.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

The Bear River at Border.
* from Thursday evening until further notice...Or until the Warning
is cancelled.
* At 3:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 8.0 feet.
* Flood Stage is 8.6 feet.
* Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above Flood Stage by tomorrow evening and continue
to rise near 8.8 feet by Friday early afternoon. additional rises
are possible thereafter.
* Impact...At 8.6 feet...Extensive flooding of lowlands and pasture
along the river will occur. Water around one foot deep will cover a
portion of Pegram Road just north of Pegram. Driveway access will
be cut off to some low lying homes next to the river near Dingle.

* At 4:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 8.2 feet.
* Flood Stage is 8.6 feet.
* Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Impact...At 8.6 feet...Extensive flooding of lowlands and pasture
along the river will occur. Water around one foot deep will cover a
portion of Pegram Road just north of Pegram. Driveway access will
be cut off to some low lying homes next to the river near Dingle.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of central Idaho, eastern Idaho, south central Idaho,
and southeast Idaho, including the following areas, in central
Idaho, Big and Little Wood River Region, Lost
River/Pahsimeroi, and Sawtooth Mountains. In eastern Idaho,
Upper Snake Highlands. In south central Idaho, Eastern Magic
Valley. In southeast Idaho, Cache Valley/Idaho Portion,
Caribou Highlands, South Central Highlands, and Wasatch
Mountains/Idaho Portion.

* Through Thursday morning

* Excessive snowmelt, mainly below 7000 feet.

* Warm temperatures and periods of precipitation will continue
over areas where significant snow pack remains. Rapid snowmelt
is possible in these areas which could create significant low
land flooding. Water over roads and flooding near homes is
possible. Areas near creeks and streams may be especially
vulnerable to runoff flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
